General insurance code of practice
What is the General Insurance Code of Practice
The General Insurance Code of Practice (the Code) is a voluntary code of behaviour that focuses on the principles of openness, fairness and honesty.
It defines the standard insurance issuers, distributors, and external experts commit to meet when providing services to their customers. The Code also sets out reasonable timeframes for insurers to respond to claims, complaints, and requests for information from customers.
